Many ecommerce sellers ship bulk orders, or case packs as part of their business model, and we support this. For ShipCentral to manage your inventory and shipping accurately, here are some fundamentals you should know:
**We will not co-mingle inventory for separate case pack and single unit product ID’s to fill orders when one is out of stock.
To illustrate this, we will use the following products:
Say you stock a single box of macaroni and cheese, and also a case of 18 in our warehouse.
These are entirely different products, and if they are inventoried and sold as separate products, the case will never be broken down to fill orders for the singles.
Sample Product 1 – Single Unit
- Single unit
- 7.25 ounce package of macaroni and cheese
- Separate product sku/Offer ID to match your website
- Unique barcode
- Example Order #1 – for a single unit – a single unit is shipped using the single unit barcode
- Example Order #2 – for 18 single units – 18 single units are shipped using the single unit barcode
**If there are no single units in the warehouse, these orders will be backordered due to being out of stock even though there may be 18 count cases in stock
Sample Product 2 – Bundle of 3
- Bundle of 3
- 3- 7.25 ounce package of macaroni and cheese
- Separate product sku/Offer ID to match your website
- Same barcode as on Single Unit
- Example Order #1 – for 1 Bundle of 3 – 3 units are shipped using the single unit barcode
- Example Order #2 – for 6 bundles of 3 – 18 single units are shipped using the single unit barcode
**If there are no single units in the warehouse, these orders will be backordered due to being out of stock even though there may be 18 count cases in stock
Sample Product 3 – 18 Count Case
- 18 count case of 7.25 ounce packages of macaroni and cheese
- Separate product sku/Offer ID
- Unique barcode
- Example Order for 1 – 18 count case – 1 case is shipped
**If there are no 18 count cases in the warehouse, these orders will be backordered due to being out of stock even though there may be 18 single unit boxes in stock
